The partner of a serving officer in the Police Service of Northern Ireland has been targeted in a car bomb attack. The device exploded under the passenger side of the car as she maneuvered out of the driveway at approximately 7:30am on the morning of Friday the 16th October.

The woman escaped with minor injuries and although she was taken to hospital, she was later released. The police have commenced an investigation into the attack which has left Kingsdale Park and the wider Cherryvalley community in shock.
